Apple Of My Eye

Good Morning and Happy Weekend!  This morning I am sharing the card that I created for this week's sketch challenge over at The Sweet Stop - SSS141.  Here is the sketch I followed:

For this card, I used Sweet 'n Sassy stamps - Punny Fruits and Veggies.  I decided on the apple - isn't he sweet!?  He is all paper pieced.  I kept everything else simple.  All designer paper is from Basic Grey - Sugar Rush collection.  I stamped the sentiment right on the background for a change.  Only extra embellishment is the pink ric-rac that I used for the bottom strip.

I am off to start my next project!  I set today aside for crafting :)  Stay tuned!

One Punny Fruit!

During my stay at my parent's in PA over the holidays, mom and I took a road trip to a cute little store in Lancaster County called L & L Rubber Stamps and Supplies. As I was stocking up on some much needed supplies (you know how that goes LOL!), I found this adorable stamp set called Punny Fruits & Veggies by Sweet 'n Sassy stamps. I couldn't pass it up as I thought it would be great for some quick little Valentines.

I stamped the pear image and sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored it using Koh-I-Noor pencils and OMS. I cut out the image and bordered it using a piece of Bazzill card stock in Hollywood. I used a piece of designer paper from Basic Grey - Nook & Pantry for the background, and stitched it onto the card (4" x 4") that I made using Green Apple Pure Luxury card stock from Gina K. Designs. I added some sponging to all layers with some SU! ink in Close to Cocoa. I kept the embellishments simple and added just a few red rhinestones and some ribbon.
